Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z vs Bajaj Dominar 400

Bajaj Auto has launched the much-anticipated Pulsar NS400Z, its biggest and most powerful Pulsar motorcycle yet. While it shares its engine and chassis with its bigger brother, the Dominar 400, the NS400Z brings a fresh design and a surprising feature advantage at a more competitive price.

Standing Out from the Crowd

The most striking difference between the two bikes is their looks. The NS400Z borrows styling cues from the NS200, sporting sharper features and a sportier design that feels modern and up-to-date. The Dominar 400, while powerful, has a more muscular and mature look that hasn’t been updated since its launch in 2017.

Packed with Features

The NS400Z boasts a surprising feature advantage over the Dominar 400, despite being the younger sibling. It comes equipped with a switchable traction control system, ride-by-wire throttle for smoother acceleration, and four ride modes that let you adjust the bike’s performance to different riding conditions. It even features Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation, perfect for navigating unfamiliar roads. These features are missing on the Dominar 400.

Lighter and More Agile

The NS400Z also shines in terms of handling. It has a shorter wheelbase compared to the Dominar 400, making it lighter and easier to maneuver in traffic or flick around corners. Additionally, a sharper rake angle on the NS400Z further enhances its agility.

Same Engine, Different Tuning

Both bikes share the same 373cc, single-cylinder engine, but with slightly different tuning. Power and torque figures are similar, but delivered at different RPM ranges. However, the NS400Z gets a larger rear sprocket compared to the Dominar 400. This translates to better acceleration, especially in low-end and mid-range riding.

More Bike for Your Buck

Here’s the biggest surprise: the NS400Z with all its additional features comes at a lower price point than the Dominar 400! It’s priced at Rs. 1.85 Lakh (ex-showroom), a significant Rs. 46,000 cheaper than its elder sibling. This makes the NS400Z an incredible value proposition, offering more features, a sportier design, and better handling at a more affordable price.
